Meet Dr. Rhett Adams

             A Virginia native from Roanoke, Dr. Rhett is ecstatic to call Charlottesville home.  He graduated from James Madison University in 2014 with a B.S. in Health Sciences and a Pre-Med focus.  Inspired by the intricacies of the human body in anatomy and physiology classes, he went on to study chiropractic at Life University in Atlanta, GA, the largest chiropractic college in the world. After graduating with a Doctorate of Chiropractic (D.C.) in 2017, Dr. Rhett spent several months working with some of the best of the best in chiropractic in Northern California.  

            Chiropractors graduate with a doctorate level degree, earning an estimated 4,600 credit hours over four years.  The first two years are comparable to medical school with studies focusing on the basic sciences such as biochemistry, anatomy, pathology, and microbiology.  The final two years of chiropractic school are devoted to the clinical sciences and integrated diagnosis, spending hours in bone and soft tissue radiology, neurological diagnosis, case management, and patient care.  

            Dr. Rhett exclusively practices the world-renowned Gonstead technique, which he has studied extensively since his first year in school.  He has even driven the trek from Atlanta to Dr. Gonstead’s historic clinic in Mt. Horeb, Wisconsin multiple times!  In an effort to deliver excellence in patient care, Dr. Rhett continues to pursue clinical mastery in the science, art, and philosophy of chiropractic through ongoing Gonstead seminars.  

            As a chiropractor’s son, Dr. Rhett was fortunate enough to grow up healthy through the help of excellent Gonstead chiropractic care as a child despite many bumps and bruises.  A combination of personal experience and extensive studies in biomechanics, exercise science, and injury management give Dr. Rhett a unique perspective of what works in health care – and what doesn’t.  He recognizes that our bodies are intelligent and healthy by design, and it is Dr. Rhett’s personal mission to connect people with their brilliant physiology through Gonstead chiropractic care.  Doctor means teacher, so it is Dr. Rhett’s purpose to educate and adjust as many families as possible back towards optimal health.  

           An avid outdoors-man and adventure enthusiast, Dr. Rhett enjoys spending his free time with his wife, Katrina, hiking or exploring some unknown territory. You might find him playing ultimate frisbee or golf from time to time and may even find him at one of our local wineries or breweries.
