THE GONSTEAD METHOD OF SPECIFIC CHRIOPRACTIC
WHAT IS "Gonstead"?
The Gonstead Method of Specific Chiropractic was developed by Dr. Clarence S. Gonstead throughout his 50+ years of clinical experience in chiropractic. He was able to help patients that were not getting results with other doctors, and so many doctors would send their “tough patients” to him in his clinic in Mt. Horeb, Wisconsin. It is estimated that he saw over 2 million patients in his lifetime.
Patients traveled all over the world to experience Dr. Gonstead’s care. Because of the results he achieved with patients that other doctors were not able to attain, Dr. Gonstead became known as the “miracle man.”
Before becoming a chiropractor, Dr. Gonstead was a mechanical engineer who came down with a severe case of juvenile rheumatoid arthritis. Bed-ridden, he sought out chiropractic care and experienced his own chiropractic miracle in regaining his ability to walk, thus inspiring him to become a chiropractor.

THE GONSTEAD ADVANTAGE
The science and clinical experience behind this cutting-edge technique results in the most accurate and precise approaches to care for individuals within chiropractic. Because the spinal column is a dynamic structure affecting the entire body, the Gonstead practitioner uses five specific criteria to pinpoint exactly where the cause of the problem is, along the way assessing for neurological dysfunction, soft tissue damage, and joint restriction. This same level of specificity is applied to the correction, as spinal adjusting happens by hand only. For good reason, the Gonstead Technique is often known as the gold-standard of hands-on adjusting.
Through this comprehensive approach to correcting the spine and nervous system, we often find that the body begins to function better as a whole. Most patients under our care not only report relief from pain or discomfort, but as their spinal joints align and heal, they notice other conditions clearing up as well.
